Fairmount did a great service for our family during a very difficult time. Jesse, and many others, helped guide us and supported us from start to finish. We now have a beautiful memorial that pays the honored respect we desired. I give Fairmount Memorial Association a well earned thank you and my highest recommendation.
My family and I have had the most extraordinary experience with Rick and the Fairmount team. From start to finish, we have felt supported and respected as a grieving family should. We had some changes mid-planning, worked with the team virtually, and even had to plan for another loved one simultaneously. The team was empathetic and able to help us choose the best option for our personal circumstances. I highly recommend this facility and Rick was amazing. Rick even put a special touch on our loved one's resting place to celebrate his birthday! They respectively call the loved ones "residents," which is very helpful when discussing the business side of things. This organization cares about families first vs. dollars first. It was a refreshing experience.
We worked with Fairmount when our son passed away. They were very caring and knowledgeable and very considerate and respectful of our tender feelings. Because of our experience with them, we did our preplanning funeral arrangements. Again, they were amazing in how they dealt with us. Their pricing and payment plans were very fair and reasonable. I highly recommend them to anyone.
The staff at Fairmount were very kind and caring. Rick was very helpful and knowledgeable. They worked with us to accommodate our needs with the passing of my brother. The grounds were beautiful, peaceful and I felt safe and welcome to come anytime. Highly recommend!
Title: Profiteering Off Grief: A Heartbreaking Experience That No Family Should Endure Losing a loved one is one of the most challenging and emotional experiences anyone can face. Our family went to Riverside Memorial Park hoping to find guidance, compassion, and support during our time of mourning. Instead, we were met with a process that felt cold, transactional, and focused solely on profiting off our grief. From the very beginning, the staff at Riverside Memorial Park seemed more interested in upselling services than providing genuine care or understanding. What should have been a dignified and empathetic process quickly turned into a financial nightmare. Basic services came with exorbitant price tags, and the lack of transparency in pricing made it nearly impossible to know what we were agreeing to until it was too late. At a time when we were most vulnerable—emotionally drained and overwhelmed with decisions—Riverside Memorial Park took advantage of our trust. We were presented with vague descriptions of services, pressured into making quick decisions, and subtly guilted into choosing more expensive options, as though anything less would dishonor our loved one. This manipulation felt cruel and exploitative, preying on our grief to extract as much money as possible. What should have been a process of honoring and remembering our loved one turned into one filled with regret and frustration. We were left not only mourning our loss but also carrying the heavy burden of financial strain and a lingering feeling that we had been deceived. The most upsetting aspect of this experience was the lack of compassion. Losing a loved one is already one of life’s most painful experiences, and the added stress of feeling taken advantage of by an organization that should have been a source of support only deepened our heartache. Families in mourning deserve empathy, transparency, and fairness—not to be treated as business opportunities. I’m sharing this review as both a warning to other families and a plea for change. If you are considering Riverside Memorial Park, I urge you to carefully evaluate your options and seek detailed pricing information upfront. Don’t let grief cloud your judgment, as we sadly did. To the management of Riverside Memorial Park, I hope this review encourages serious reflection on your practices. Families trust you with the responsibility of helping them through their most vulnerable moments. That trust is sacred, and to exploit it for profit is deeply unethical. Your role is to provide solace and support, not to add to the pain of loss. If I could go back and choose differently, I would. I hope no other family has to experience what we did. Grieving is hard enough without the added stress of financial exploitation. My only hope is that by sharing our story, others will be more informed and prepared during one of life’s most difficult times.
