Seattle Humane

Earlier in the year, we said goodbye to our 14 year old rescue, and hoped for the right opportunity to welcome a new dog to our family. While visiting the Seattle Humane website we saw Cammy and drove the next day to meet her in person. She wasn't ready for visitors as she was being spayed, but the staff told me all about her and showed me a video, and helped me put the wheels in motion. The next day, we brought her home, and she has brightened our lives ever since. The people at Seattle Humane were amazing, and I appreciated all the support, instructions and follow-up during the adoption process. I also noted how cheerful and positive the environment was, which made me feel better about the other dogs, cats and critters we couldn't take home :). Thank you, Seattle Humane, for all that you do.

This shelter has given me two of the best animals I could have ever imagined. The staff here is incredible, they don’t lie or trick you into getting an animal, because they care about them. They will be honest and straight forward regarding the adoption before you meet with them. You can tell the staff wants all of the animals to end up in a forever home where they will fit in and be loved appropriately. We have one cat and a dog both adopted from here. They have wonderful trading programs and really good practices with meet and greets which keep the animals in mind first.

We adopted a tuxedo kitten from Seattle Humane and had a great experience. The adoption process was straightforward, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The waiting time was about 2–3 hours, which is understandable since the place is usually quite busy.

I went to the adoption center right when they opened, and there were already quite a few people waiting. You can tell them the names of the pets you want to meet, and when it’s your turn, they give you about 10 minutes to spend time with each one. While waiting, I had time to walk around and see the animals at the shelter. Seeing them one by one was honestly heartbreaking, I couldn’t help but tear up. I had only been browsing adoption listings online for a long time and finally worked up the courage to visit Seattle Humane, even if it was just to look around. I’m really glad I did. Dixie is now having a great time with me as Chowder now!

Me and my husband came in on a saturday to «just look» and we left with Luna on monday. The staff is incredibly kind and informative and honest! They dont try to dump a pet on you, they throughly inform you based on how they were talking to us and everyone. The cages are clean, there was always someone cleaning, it didnt smell and the dogs were all so good and calm. You can tell they all felt safed and loved. Their facebook reflect that as well, all the love and photos! We absolutely loved how thorough they were with us and we couldnt be happier with Luna. She is seriously the perfect dog!! We will come back for more and recommend forever🤍🤍🤍We love Seattle Humane!
