I am frankly Disturbed. My Beloved pet has no ID disc in his ashes . And I paid for a private crematory. The most reliable way to ensure authenticity is to choose a reputable, accredited crematory (such as one certified by the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories (IAOPCC)) and to confirm their tracking procedures in advance. If you have concerns after receiving the ashes: Check the ID Tag: Look for the metal ID tag or disc inside the remains and verify its number matches the one on your paperwork. Contact the Crematory: Politely but firmly contact the crematory or your vet to ask about their specific tracking policies and any discrepancies you notice. Consider DNA Testing: As a last resort, some specialized forensic labs can attempt to extract DNA from remaining bone fragments for comparison with a known sample (e.g., fur or tissue collected before cremation). Note that this process is complex, expensive, and success rates can be low. Report Concerns: If you suspect misconduct, you can file a complaint with your state's consumer protection agency or the Attorney General's office, who may have records from investigations into disreputable facilities. The certificate I was given with his ashes has no ID number! This is disturbing and contractually non-binding. I have no way to know that my family member was individually cremated and given to me! And I will go to the legislation and demand this be reminded.
As someone who has worked in the field of veterinary medicine for 18 years. I have worked with several pet cremation companies. I was saddened when my personal pet passed away and I knew I wanted her ashes as I’ve had from 5 weeks old and she was an emotional support pet…. Your private cremation is completely overpriced for the workmanship you get. Her urn was basic. I requested silver name plating not to mention her urn had scratches on it and finger prints. I wish I would have taken the time to take her to Pet Cremation Services of Hampton Roads Their workmanship and urns are 100% on a better scale and the way they treat the community of veterinary professionals with services can’t compare.
I recently used HRPC Services for the second time. I cannot say enough good about them. I knew my girl was in good hands this time, which made a very tough decision a bit easier. And though it wasn't the deciding factor, their rates are much better than the competition.
Our dog recently passed away and was sent here for cremation. The only thing we asked for, was a paw print. The employee neglected to do so, claiming they assumed the vet had done it beforehand. Our vet is not now, and never has been in the business of creating memorials. They provide medical services, because they are a clinic.when I reached out to this company to find out what happened, they basically blamed my vet, rather than claim g responsibility for their actions. My family was looking forward to this small reminded of a rather large part of our family, and this can obviously never be changed. A simple phone call would have clarified if they were confused. I am very disappointed with their services, and will look elsewhere in the future, for fear of a repeat of this situation.
Did not bother to check information on my pet. Was given my cats ashes with a misspelled name on his box and paperwork. Not only do I have to go through the pain of him being gone, but the pain of knowing they couldn’t even care to get his name right.
