As Vermonts only specialty & 24/7 emergency animal hospital, Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists provides an expert level of care.
Our 11 year old pup got some great care at BEVS over the Thanksgiving holiday! He has a bacterial infection that required him to be in the hospital for 4 days! There was a very long 5 hour wait to be seen, and I could have been more patient; but by the midnight hour - I was exhausted! Our family is very grateful to the entire team for the patience and professionalism that they exhibited during the 4 day period.
we feel soooooo lucky that our guy stevie was able to receive urgent ophthalmology care @ BEVS. dr. hoy and her team made such a stressful and shocking experience all the more comfortable for me, my partner, and stevie. calm, compassionate, thorough, and clearly very good at what she does. our guy is all healed up, albeit with one less eye. and while we hope this doesn’t happen to any other pet owners, we’re happy to know that there are pet caregivers like dr. hoy in town. 🤍
When I met with Dr. Kellner for our Cavalier's predental consult I had multiple concerns about the risks of the procedure. Dr. Kellner's obvious technical expertise was immediately evident and reassuring. I knew I could trust him with our Henry. Additionally Dr. Kellner has great people skills - thorough explanations and patient answers to questions. Everyone at BEVS was exceptional.
I brought my dog, Lulu, to Bev’s two weeks ago, and unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, I was informed the wait time would be between one and three hours; however, we ultimately waited five hours before being seen. Additionally, a $200 deposit was required at check-in, which effectively prevents clients from leaving while waiting. During this time, most of the front desk staff were unhelpful and dismissive. The exception was Izzy, who was kind, attentive, and professional. Once we were finally seen, both the doctor and technicians were courteous and compassionate, which I appreciated. While I was satisfied with the medical care my pet received, the long wait times, upfront deposit policy, and poor customer service at the front desk made the overall experience very frustrating..
Great experience this evening. There was a 2-4 hour wait, which I was aware of, and was prepared to spend the evening in the waiting room. (My dog ingested dark chocolate, quite a bit the previous day, and animal poison controlled said we should head to the emergency vet services). To my surprise, Dr. Mallory came out to check in before I finished the initial paperwork. She did a quick check of my dog, reassured me, gave me some advice, and sent us on our way. She encouraged me to call back if anything changed…. Saved me lots of time and money!
