Mimi Etheridge who is one of the Directors at Palmer IS AMAZING!!! Palmer Memorial Chapel Is one of the best funeral homes Here in Columbia!!
Would never recommend to anyone ! Air conditioning did not work in August in SC. The video screen did not come on until half the visitation was over, the programs were not printed in time and we were asked to “pass them out ourselves . There were fingernail clippings on the floor in the viewing room, they provided stale Oreos and hot water bottles / not even chilled . It was like our arrival was a surprise - very unprepared and the other said all these things were out of her control!! Wallpaper peeling off walls/ I had to move the wallpaper and nails out of the way / was in entryway. Bench was filthy -Have some decency and respect for families losing ones they love instead of worrying about money you make!!
Our family has been using this funeral home for over a decade and each funeral has been an unforgettable affair! They are compassionate and tasteful when handling grieving clients. The professionalism of all, from director to driver, was deeply appreciated. This is an independent business, NOT a large chain funeral home, which is reflected in the personalized attention we received on every occasion. We are grateful this business is here to service our community with care and cultural sensitivity.
The quality of service begin the moment that Palmer Memorial Chapel was called that my mother had expired. Although my mother had expressed her wishes for her Homegoing. There was still details that needed to be addressed and planned. We were given excellent guidance from the beginning to the end. I hope I don't have to use their service any time soon; but if it is necessary, I would.
My experience, my dad passed July 1 2021 the experience with palmer's was great we were quite satisfied with the service. Unfortunately my uncle passed June 15 2022 and we decided to go to Palmer so we had his funeral last Monday, my uncle served 17 years in the military so we the family wanted a 100% military funeral for him which we did not get and palmer knew what kind of funeral we wanted. Whoever preached his service was short so we had to go in the lobby and wait until it was time to go to the burial site.felt like a meet and greet to me.upon viewing the body we had medals for them to place on his uniform which did not happen they gave us medals back in a bag they was supposed to shave and groom him military style which didn't happen his hands was ashy and there was no military officials at funeral to escort his body not and salute nor there was no shots fired we were very unpleased
