McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation James Island

We went with our mom several years ago, to McAlister Smith Funeral Homes, to choose and pay for what she wanted when the time would come to take her home to her Lord. Fast forward to the recent week when our mom passed and we were faced with the preparation of her final arrangements. We were not prepared for the decisions that had to be made to include verses, memories, music and her outfit. We were consumed with such sadness and a degree of not accepting this was happening. My brother and I were met exactly where we were and led through each and every step. The patience, compassion and respect that was shown to us from the front staff to the funeral director did not waver. We were helped and held steadfast until we could move forward. Our mom was prepared with such precision and grace and they gave us a beautiful version of our mom. Cory gave her service and it was nothing less than perfect. The sermon, so eloquently delivered and his version of what we shared about how mom grew up and our favorite memories were delivered with accuracy and comical relief. She was taken and placed at the cemetery and we were again treated with the respect we needed. We are so impressed with McAlister Smith Funeral Homes and would encourage anyone to allow them to care for your loved one.

I am so glad I selected McAlister-Smith. Everyone was so kind. They made a bad time tolerable. They have a very knowledgeable staff that guided me through the process. And they provided an information packet that has answered my questions.

Cory, Janie, Lisa and team were a blessing at one of the most difficult times in life. The planning for my mother’s funeral was overwhelming before we met with Cory to begin the planning process. After the first few minutes of meeting with Cory, I had peace knowing we were in good hands. I never worried about the details again, which is an amazing gift when you are emotionally distracted. The greatest comfort was knowing the McAlister - Smith people of faith surrounded my mother and our family. On February 6, 2020, we had a Memoriable service for my mom, Florence McCants. The service was held on James Island, Folly Road. It takes a lot of preparation in making these arrangements happen. McAlister- Smith made it possible to take care of our needs and provide a well organized service for my mom. During our time of making mom's arrangements, our family consulted with McAlister- Smith on James Island and McAlister- Smith West Ashley. I can say with confidence, the entire staff at both locations gave us support and MADE SURE all of our needs were met. I would highly recommend McAlister-Smith to anyone in need of burial or cremation. They also can take care of your fur babies. Our total experience was par Excellant!!!
