McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation Goose Creek

I would highly recommend McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation in Goose Creek. The staff led by Gene and Don were all wonderful. My father passed away unexpectedly after 89 years, and from the time of his death to his funeral and burial services, M-S staff were professional and caring of our entire family. My father spent 30 years in the Navy, and military honors were important to him. Gene, in particular, was able to set this up for us in less than 24 hours. Gene and staff were like an extended part of our family during this difficult time. At the funeral home, M-S staff did a great job preparing my dad's body for viewing and demonstrated deep respect with the draping of the American flag over his coffin. The state room for the private visitation was also solemn, well decorated and very clean. Finally, we were pleased at how quickly the called us with the death certificate.

I talked to Esmeralda Walsh about preplanning my funeral. She was very kind, understanding and knowledgeable. She immediately put me at ease and didn’t pressure me into buying anything I didn’t want. The funeral for my Son was here nearly 10 years ago and they were very professional. I highly recommend them.

McAlister Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek provided very supportive assistance in planning my husband’s funeral. Don Miller explained everything and was always available when I had questions. When you are going through the grief of losing your husband, it’s hard to think, concentrate or even breathe. Mr. Miller understood and gave the space needed for me to comprehend what he was saying. The funeral took place in two states with his service in one and the burial in another. I can’t say enough how good they were with me and in taking care of my husband. They made all the arrangements for transportation with the airlines and coordinated with the funeral home in the burial state. The other staff members I worked with were just as good and Caroline was a huge help. They didn’t stop with the services, but followed up to ensure we were okay after everything was finished. I would recommend McAlister-Smith if you are looking for a wonderful caring funeral home to take care of your loved one when that time comes.

We held our father‘s visitation at McAllister - Smith’s funeral home. It was beautifully done. They were so very accommodating to all the different specifications that we had for his final wishes. The compassion shown to the family and friends was above and beyond. Even after the funeral, all of the arrangements went off very well, and everyone was pleased. They worked with us through the insurance companies and waited until we had that information for their final payment. Just a joy to work with compassionate and honest vendors.

I would never ever use McAlister Smith with my pets ever again. First they lost one of my pups and couldn't find him it was over a month he was there and I told them I would call the police if they didn't find him. They called me back and said he was sitting in a urn on a shelf in the back storage closet. The west Ashley location brought him and met me in a parking lot and on the top of my car they gave me my pup hopefully it was him. I would hate to think that it wasn't him and they just gave me something to shut me up.
