The cost of dying is not insignificant. I dealt with Musgrove because they have had a long-standing arrangement with Temple Beth Israel. I made arrangements for both my wife and myself earlier this year, having a well-founded feeling it would be needed soon. My wonderful wife Marlene passed away early in September. On top of reeling from the loss, I also got diagnosed with Covid the day after she died, no doubt caught from one of the care givers I had hired. So, I was in pretty bad shape come the day of her funeral. When I arrived, I asked if there was someone who could drive me up to the grave site, and even though there clearly were employees around, the receptionist said no, no one could do that. Which was a complete lie, as, shortly after I managed to walk there, one of the employees drove up in their golf cart. I asked if he could give me a ride back, which he did. Sometime later, I found that one of my wife's closest friends, who was wheelchair bound, was told that wheelchairs could not access the gravesite, which was a complete lie, as someone (who didn't bother to ask) arrived in a wheelchair without any problem at all. I don't like being lied to and I certainly don't like the idea that although they act so serious and so concerned beforehand, after you pay your money, their sincerity and desire to help go right out the window. As a result, I cannot recommend these people to anyone, unless you want to spend a lot of money and don't care how you are treated later, especially in your time of need.
Musgroves Family Mortuary was amazing to work with during such a tough time. The staff were so kind, patient, and caring — they really treated our family like their own. Everything was handled with compassion and professionalism. I’m so grateful for their support and would highly recommend them to anyone.
I just have to say that Jenny is the kindest most heartfelt lady you could have working for a mortuary. She has been so supportive with my father's passing. When you lose a loved one You need someone like that lady speaking with you and being comforted. She deserves a raise and a big hug. Thankyou Jenny.
