I was very pleased with Alpha Cremation Service Company. Due to financial constraints, I had to take care of my wife's cremation myself without the help of a mortuary. I was very well taken care of and everything was explained to me before the cremation took place. I chose a beautiful wooden box with a bird in a tree carved on top to contain my wife's cremains. I was pleasantly surprised that they made things comfortable and easy for me to deal with.
Took over a MONTH to get my mother back. They drug their feet and messed up the paperwork repeatedly. Cremation itself only takes about 3 hours, the whole process should take 7-10 business days, two weeks max with delays, not OVER A MONTH. Not only that but every interaction with staff was met with attitude. These people should not be working with grieving families what so ever. You’re better off paying the extra money to have them transported away from their monopolized funeral homes, would probably be cheaper too. I’m convinced most of the positive reviews are by staff of their family members, I wouldn’t trust them. Either that or they’re extremely discriminatory against people who can’t pay their inflated full package prices. Seems like if you get direct cremated you’re treated like scum. You’re better off going anywhere else but here, they have bought out the surrounding funeral homes so don't bother with anything in the area, the staff are just are rude elsewhere. Staff didn’t seem to like that I knew the standard process time that this is supposed to take, don’t let them drag their feet holding onto your family member so they can up-charge with refrigeration fees because of their mistakes and their delays.
This place is horrible.!! My father passed away September 24th 2025 and it is now November 25th and my father still has not been cremated because I was under the impression that they were going to help me because I was not capable of paying for my father's cremation I was send Alpha cremation because I was not able to pay what the other place wanted for the cremation so I was told this place was going to work with me on it well I get sent to this woman who is the director named Shannon and the first day I went in there she put all the stuff in front of me explain this and that and the contract never once did she tell me what we have a indigent program that you can sign up for to help pay for your father or whatever never did she once say that it was a binding contract and that once it was signed that I wouldn't be eligible for the indigent program until afterwards way afterwards when she sent me a rude email telling me that it was unacceptable that my father had been with him for four over four weeks and was not cremated yet or was not paid for I was appalled at this email I was grieving over my father passing and yet I was receiving emails telling me that it was unacceptable that it wasn't paid for and that on a certain day it would start at $100 a day for everyday they had to keep him in a refrigerator I was completely beside myself I could not believe that this woman the director of the cremation place was so rude and so inconsiderate and so cold about the whole thing I sent her an email My aunt called her and I have heard nothing for weeks about my dad nothing and I feel like a failure to my father because I have not put him to a proper rest this place is horrible and I don't recommend it I give it zero stars zero I only put one star up there because I had to in order to post this which is ridiculous you should be able to put no stars
Alpha was amazing, start to finish! The process to fill out paperwork online couldn’t have been any easier. All documents came via email and were e-signed. The staff who came to pick up the body were so kind and respectful. I would absolutely recommend them, 10/10 service!
I initially made a phone call to them from Texas because they seem to be the closest in proximity to the lane county ME office. No, I’m not in the funeral home business, but to me I put in way more effort with the ME office getting my son‘s body released than what this organization did. If they did do something, it was crickets in terms of communication from them. Once I got my son’s body released, they were very quick in picking up his body formalizing the contract for cremation along with payment. Once they fixed a technical issue with their equipment It’s delayed the cremation a bit, but my son was Cremated. They did charge me a $175 charge to ship my son ashes back to Texas telling me that it was a mandatory charge however when I did receive my son‘s ashes, the actual fee Paid to the Postal Service was $125 which made me feel pretty mad That an outfit like this would add an additional profit Margin just to ship my son’s ashes back to me in Texas. I thought this was extremely bad form! After I received my son‘s ashes, I had Some additional questions and concerns and the net/net is once they were paid and sent my son‘s ashes to me They really didn’t Want to talk to me too much or help resolve my questions or concerns. Again, in my mind, extremely bad form on their part.
