Richard was so friendly and understanding. He is professional and very knowledgeable. Alternative cremation has helped me on two occasions. Both situations were handled with care and compassion. I would highly recommend this company when you are in need services for your loved one.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for Richard and his son taking such good care of my mother and bringing her remains back home to me. Richard has the patience of a saint and always accepted my calls and assisted every step of the way.

This place is Awesome. When my mom died in 2022 I didn't know what to do she didn't have any insurance but Richard was cheap and affordable and he handled everything. Now he is handling my Aunt who just passed away. If you want a affordable place that have people who really care Alternative Cremation is the place.

Do not send your loved ones here—especially if you're Black. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had during one of the most painful times of my life. When he called to make arrangements for my sister, the very first thing the man said to me was, “Why aren’t you donating her to science?”—as if she was not a human being who mattered. He was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion. When I chose to go with another cremation service, he refused to release my sister's body until I paid him a $200 fee. The new company tried to retrieve her the same day, but he dodged their calls and kept her body overnight out of spite. That delay and extra stress during a time of grief was completely unnecessary and inhumane. I truly believe his behavior was racially motivated, and it’s heartbreaking to realize that even in death, Black people are disrespected. My sister was my best friend. She deserved dignity, and I deserved compassion—not coldness, greed, and cruelty. Black families: please do not send your loved ones here. We deserve better.

Our family recently turned to Alternative for their services, and I can't emphasize enough how impressed we were. Richard was incredibly straightforward, promptly providing all the information we needed. Unlike many other funeral homes that keep their pricing under wraps, Alternative transparently lists their rates right on their website. There was no pressure to purchase additional services; we simply wanted a direct cremation, and that’s exactly what we received—efficient and to the point. While the building could benefit from some enhancement in curb appeal, our experience was largely positive. I did notice that the staff seemed minimal, as I only interacted with two people during the process. I rated them 4 stars for customer service, mainly due to the need for follow-up calls—it felt a bit understaffed at times. Nevertheless, Richard effectively addressed all my questions and did his utmost to assist us. To summarize: 5🌟 for cost, 4🌟 for customer service, and 4🌟 for appearance. Overall, I highly recommend Alternative for their honest pricing and reliable service.
