When dealing with this company always make sure you have a written contract detailing your expectations. A invoice is not the same as a contract. By requesting a written contract, you can hold them accountable for their negligent infliction of distress. My mom’s service was a nightmare and Smoot has yet to hold themselves accountable or even give an apology to me and my family. Regardless of the fact that we paid for a cremation vs a burial my mom deserved nothing but the upmost respect and dignity. Instead my family are still embarrassed and in disbelief about what happened. I requested gospel music during the visitation hour. Instead Tennessee Whiskey played for 40 minutes until the employee came back to change the music and photos. My mom’s slide show included pics of people other than my mom. My mom’s program was wrong. It took 32 days to return my mom’s ashes. In those 32 days they kept giving the run around about my mom’s ashes. Employee was rude enough to hang up in face cause I was asking questions. The employees there are rude, show no compassion, they are very disrespectful, and insensitive to another’s persons grieve. My family and I didn’t deserve this treatment from the staff at Smoot Funeral Services.

I will never recommend this funeral home! The lady Monique is amazing, her help is terrible!!!!! When a family is grieving the funeral home staff should be sympathetic and compassionate but our family received the complete opposite. We paid cash for my grandmother service and got treated like we were on a payment with no insurance. I pray that God will mend their hearts because the rudeness was unbelievable. I will never recommend this place!

As an only surviving sibling, I lost my mother suddenly after an acute onset illness. Planning a funeral is not easy; coming logistics and final wishes can be overwhelming. Smoot Funeral Home “Marcia” provided the absolute BEST service. She paid close attention to detail, provided suggestions with open communication which lead to top-notch concierge service for me and my family. WOW, from start to finish everything was amazing. I feel as if I “we” have gained lifetime extended family members.

Monique Smoot and her staff did an outstanding job handling my mom's arrangements. One of the greatest gifts that she gave to our family was the handling of my mom's remains. She gave us my mom as we have always known her to be physically. She looked stunning and very much at peace. I truly appreciate her care and compassion towards me and my family. She made navigation through this time in our lives much easier.

There aren't enough stars to rate the experience my family had from Smoot. From the first time we walked through their doors and talked to Monique she made laying my son to rest a beautiful experience. Monique and her entire staff were very professional and attentive to our wants and needs. I would recommend them to anyone that has to bury a loved one. THANKS SO MUCH!!!
