I took my husky mix in yesterday for the first time who is timid and fear aggressive when it comes to being touched and meeting new people! Dr. Strickland was absolutely amazing with her and was so patient and calm with her. She did not rush the appointment and knew exactly how to handle a very anxious and vocal dog and was such an amazing advocate for me and my pup. I have never felt so comfortable as a pet parent leaving an appointment!! I have been raving about Back Cove since I left and I am so grateful. Reia is using pacing and anxious during her appointments even when she is medicated but she was taking treats, had some tail wags and was even laying down. ☺️

Hunter and I went to them for the first time this past Monday-They were amazing with him-They took time after a lot of questions even though I forgot a lot of the answers and I was able to email them and ask questions again because I forgot the answers and they would reply within 24 hours or less… They were great… Being new to the area since the beginning of 2026– I will definitely keep going there with my dog Hunter… They were gonna put him up on the table, and I explained that he does not like to be picked up and he will try to jump out of the arms-And the Veterinarian said that’s OK. We’ll just do everything on the floor, they sat on the floor with him and did everything right there except for the blood work and trimming as they they took him in the back for that, They absolutely fell in love with him, and Hunter was really good with them too… They literally take their time and answer all your questions— They don’t just rush through anything and try to get you in and out they really-Get to know you and your dog, I say Dog because I have a dog, but I’m sure if you have a cat or what not they would be the same way.. I was very impressed.. Thank you so much for taking Hunter As a patient of y’all’s.. Great meeting you guys and we will see you in May unless we end up having issue beforehand, fingers crossed we don’t, but you know One of the issues we were there for, let’s hope we don’t have to do that again lol

Back Cove Animal Hospital is the best, our dog Barry has had to have three surgeries with them and through the whole process they were very sweet and gave us all the information we asked for and needed. They love Barry and that makes it feel more welcoming when a vet office shows they actually care about your pups that you bring in. My dog Winnie also goes here and they give all the good treats and love her and care for her as well.

This is the best vet I’ve used by far. All 4 of my animals come here for their checkups and care. The vets here take such good care of my pets, they’re always very kind, gentle, and respectful. If you want an informative vet with fear-free practices, this is the place to go.
