Amazing. They were outstanding. Mr Vaughan went above and beyond. Super nice and very compassionate . He handled up on everything and made my mother look so beautiful. It was amazing. If I die, this is who I'd trust to take care of things, and I'd want Mr Vaughan to handle it.
My family has had several passing family members that were handled at this location. We were very pleased with their professionalism and made us feel like family. They are reasonable and took care of every detail to meet the families needs. When my time comes, this is where I will request to be taken as well.
I could not possibly give Rabenhorst less than 5 stars. Calm attention to detail. I think I met everyone there. Every single person was helpful and accomodating. They find a way to accomplish your every wish and always deliver more than is promised.
Our situation ended-up being very complicated due to us being out of state trying to arrange a funeral and not understanding Louisiana laws etc. Add to this the usual combination of grief and suddenly being thrown into making big decisions that affect numerous family members other than our immediate family, and you can get a sense of the weariness my family and I were dealing with going into the funeral planning stage of losing my dad. To add to the complications, my father passed away 3 hours away from where we planned to have his burial, so we had to look for a funeral home that was unfamiliar to our family and hope for the best. Well, we found the best. Thanks to Kramer Funeral Home in Alexandria for recommending Rabenhorst in Baton Rouge. From the first person we talked to we were greeted with genuine compassion. I peppered the poor staff there with so many questions. I was indecisive, confused, panicked and just so overwhelmed with the weight of everything. Rabenhorst staff went above and beyond to patiently help me make the best of such an emotionally difficult situation. Never pushy, never any tacky car salesman pitches. No attempting to manipulate me into buying extra touches or things we didnt need. Just professional and compassionate people. Real. We even had an obituary emergency (an error on my part not Rabenhorst) that could have been a blemish on my dads memorial service. We asked them if their was anything they could do. We knew with it being the day of the funeral that this issue was not likely to be resolved. It was looking pretty hopeless as time was just not on our side. Imagine my relief and surprise when I get a call from Funeral director, Steve Newman, telling me it was taken care of! I burst into tears of joy for such a gesture. They did not have to do what they did. The people of Rabenhorst treated us like family. Then, if all this were not enough, the funeral attendant, Kenny, the pinch-hitter, was what we kept referring to as our own personal angel assigned to us for this moment. From the moment he approached me til when he left, he took the burden of worry of my/our shoulders. He held our hands-literally and figuratively through it all. Such a classy gentleman. So caring. A true reflection of the entire Rabenhorst Funeral Home folks. When we sought out funeral services, we never gave any thought or had any expectations of being served in such a thoughtful way. Rabenhorst has a servants heart. These people are the right kind of people with the right hearts for this delicate life event. I cannot say enough for how much of an answered prayer they all were. God Bless them each and all!
Absolutely made a tragic event for my family, much easier to deal with. Love the family and the history of this building as well.
