We had to take out beloved 16 yo cat, Mitten, to Metro on December 23. He was having trouble breathing. The staff immediately took him for tests and encouraged me to call family members to be there. Our sweet boy had lung cancer, advanced and unknown to us. Dr. Ross was the gentlest, kindest, most compassionate vet we could have hoped for. She shared stories of her own cat’s death and how she knew exactly what we were going through. She gave us time with him to love on him and say our goodbyes and gave us all the time we needed afterward to hold him. The staff honored our request for some of his fur and pawprints of each foot because he was polydactyl and each paw was different. Their front office staff was extremely compassionate when I picked up his cremains on NYE by myself and was a crying mess. I miss our Mitteb every day but I am thankful for Dr. Ross and Metro for taking care of all of us that night.
Yesterday, I had to bring my puppy in and received difficult news. The front office staff was incredible I wish I could remember the man’s name so I could thank him properly. Dr. Marshall was amazing, and we're deeply grateful for her support, and the love she showed all of us. Her compassion was clear in her voice. Despite the unexpected outcome, I’m thankful for the care and how quickly everyone acted. Thank you for treating my sweet boy with so much love and compassion.
I unfortunately had to bring our dog dak here after noticing his off behavior over night. The staff were polite and timely in his assessment. Dr Marshall was honest about his prognosis. I am writing this review to thank all the staff for helping my sweet but spicy dak. Dr marshall really seemed to care about dak and his quality of life. As a pet owner it can be easy to want to extend their life but doesn’t mean it’s of good quality. She answered all of our questions and helped dak cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and not in pain. I wish what was wrong with him was different but I am thankful that they took the time to care for him in his final moments. Thank you Dr Marshall.
I brought my very ill dog there last Saturday. For those reading the reviews.. here are my thoughts. Be prepared to advocate for your animal and your wallet. I will say this is a much different experience then a standard vet. You are taken to an exam room and a history is taken of your pet's illness or injury. Daisy Mae was not examined and the front office staff is very young and obviously trained to get payment up front. They will then take your pet to the back after initial payment is made. And then you wait and wait and wait with no communication. My advice is to train the staff in educating their pet owners on the expected amount of wait time, how their process works and to show their clients where the restroom is, offer water and a bit of comfort. We are terrified. Mix some compassion with business. I explained that I was authorizing an exam and ultrasound only until I spoke with the vet. They obliged. Now, the reason behind the 5 star review... Dr. WAGNER was understanding of budget limitations and offered numerous options. She was kind, listened and I felt we worked as a team to come up with a plan. She allowed my dog to come back to the room while waiting for results (after I requested) and discussed prices with every step of care. After 5 days of constant home support, I am happy to report that Daisy Mae is on the mend. I honestly thought I would have to euthanize her when I took her in. The 5 stars is for Dr. Wagner. Excellent medical staff, so-so front staff but go in with honest expectations and dont be afraid to stand up for your wallet. They do understand.
I see so many people giving them bad reviews due to the price. We have had to utilize emergency vet hospitals three times now unfortunately and they are about the same as the others. I will say they took real good care of Maylee, acted quick, communication was on point, and very friendly staff. From the moment I called, to driving an hour and a half, to them getting her back for care was very efficient. They kept her for two nights, did a reconstruction surgery and then we were able to come get her. Like I said before, the price was average as the others we utilized. They were clear and upfront with everything they did and the charges. She even came home with a cast with ghosts and candy corn on it. I would recommend them to any other pet parent.
