The communication or lack their of at what I can only call a “body farm” is deplorable. We have been calling for over a week to no avail. A family member is supposed to be at their facility and we are trying to pay for the cost and no one will call us back. It’s absolutely disgusting to treat people this way during such a difficult time. I suggest making calls back to the loved ones, but seeing the BBB doesn’t have your company listed under the best rating is not surprising by any means. Being in the death business means having empathy when warranted.

David Washburn was compassionate and helpful as we went through this uncomfortable process. Losing a loved one isn't easy, but a caring person can begin the healing process. David did just that.

The phone number you call doesn’t even ring to anyone. It goes straight to an “answering service” who is basically a middle man between client and business. They contacted my fiancé on the 19th and said that his mom’s ashes were ready to be picked up. After countless phone calls not being returned, we drove four hours to the facility to try and get a hold of someone. No one is here, they have a ring doorbell but no one will answer or speak to him. No one will return his phone calls. At this point, I feel like I’m questioning the legality of what they are doing honestly. I understand that they want you to have an appointment to pick up remains, but you can’t make an appointment if no one answers the phone. This is a little out of hand, and with an already emotional and stressful time, we are at our wits end on what to do. Do NOT use this service !!

If I could do zero stars i would. Fair warning this place doesn't do services over the weekend. I contacted them on a Friday to tend to my mother as she didn't reside in the state of Kentucky and we were trying to get her taken care of as soon as posible. After 2 1/2 days and countless calls from myself and UK hospital they still never dignified anyone with a response. Pathetic is what this place is and has no reason to be in business, don't let that low price fool you. Care cremation answered my call with the first ring and had me started on paperwork within the hour and even didn't have me pay until all paperwork was finalized on the next day. Care cremation is fair priced and I highly recommend them over bluegrass.

This place is terrible. Our son died unexpectedly, and we chose this service based on the reviews and price. Our son was cremated in February 2022. In the beginning, everything went well. The problems arose when we went to pick up our son. We had an appointment, and the person did not show up until 1 hour later. Today is June 9, 2022, and we have yet to receive our son's death certificate. I had to purchase one from the state of Kentucky because we had to settle his affairs. The most important being monthly benefits for our son's 3-year-old daughter through Social Security. I have contacted Layken and have not received a response. After talking to the deputy coroner, she informed me that others had had the same problem. As soon as I can find the correct person to report this business to, besides the Better Business Bureau, I will report this business. Very disappointed and do not recommend this business. I wish I had gone to Care Cremation and paid the extra $200. When something is unexpected, not everyone has tons of money lying around. The price was the only reason we chose this place. We should not have had to wait for our son's ashes. We are devastated at our son's loss, adding more pain to what we were and are experiencing.
