My dog August passed away in 2019 and we got her cremated here, my mom suggested them to me when my baby Merlin passed away. I initially spoke to I think her name was Meghan, I appreciated her the most. She answered all of my questions and was very helpful, considerate, and sincere. We brought Merlin in yesterday to be cremated. My best friend and I were co owners of Merlin, and the staff did a very good job respecting our wishes. We asked that he be alone for a private cremation, because I didn’t want his ashes mixed in with anyone else’s. We got one urn, but they put his ashes into two separate bags for us because we’ll each be taking a piece of Merlin with us. We also requested for Merlin’s bones, and they gave us each a little pouch with his bones inside. They were separate from the urn too, which I appreciated so we didn’t have to guess what each bag contained. We got a private room for an hour with Merlin where we brought in his body, and we weren’t bothered. There were tissues in there and comfortable seating. The window facing the graveyard was open though which we appreciated but eventually closed the blinds because people kept pulling in. I picked up his ashes today, so they cremated him this morning after ensuring we didn’t want to purchase anything else. We had a few cons, but it was only with one staff member. She didn’t necessarily do anything wrong it was more so just how she went about things. I feel bad writing this, but her voice had this big lack of sincerity to it where it almost felt forced. We understand that’s part of the job but the other staff members had a good quiet, patient approach. This one just made us a little unsettled because of how forced everything sounded. She also came in when we were done, and asked us if we wanted Merlin’s pawprints. We thought it was kind of funny because we got his pawprints ourselves and the sheets were sitting out, I know it’s part of her job to ask but it was just a little funny. She did her job perfectly well, just again, the forced aspect of her tone was awkward. Maybe that’s just our opinion though, apologies. Overall though I really appreciated the staff. They were very thorough and patient. I found Merlin’s urn slightly ajar when I got home but it’s possible it just got a little loose in the car, thankfully his ashes were in bags so that I really appreciated. The staff also had me bring in my ID just to ensure I was the proper owner of Merlin. And when I explained I changed my name and my ID would show my deadname, they were very understanding and helpful. I’m grateful they weren’t weird about it. Overall a really good experience, I thought the cemetery was beautiful and well taken care of too. They had a nice selection of coffins, urns, and other keepsakes. I appreciate as well how considerate the staff was of our religion (pagans) and didn’t make us feel weird about some of our requests. Thank you very much for the good deeds you do, lots of love.
This place is awesome. The staff is so kind and empathetic!. My Daisy passed away in her sleep this morning and we drove right to Hinsdale after a quick phone call. They put Daisy in a room in a viewing casket wrapped in a scented purple blanket so we could say our goodbyes.we had her cremated to put her ashes into their Plainfield memorial garden. Nominal fee. I feel better now. Thank you
Horrified by their shipping protocol. I made the mistake of allowing my pet to be cremated here, especially considering I paid nearly $500 in a basic package and some add ones. I was ensured by my vet that delivery was a secure process that entailed someone calling me and hand delivering my pet's remains. They actually just USPS 2 day priority shipping and cannot guarantee anything about the delivery process. I'm currently in a back and forth with USPS to get my pet's remains since their website is broken and their driver couldn't be bothered to even knock when they delivered a "final notice" (their first notice was marked as an inability to find the door which is insane, I live in a house - plus they clearly found it the second and final time). Basically, it's unreliable and a mess. I just hope I can actually retrieve my pet...
When I lost my second rat, I was planning on returning to a cheaper memorial service, but felt hesitant and decided last minute to try Trusted Journeys. I’m truly so glad I did. The entire staff treated me and my girls with incredible empathy and kindness. They were patient with my questions, the facility is clean and comforting, and the cemetery was a beautiful place to cry after saying goodbye, even if we didn’t bury our girls. The supportive memorial experience meant everything to me. Even if it was out of my budget, it was worth it. I’ve since brought my other two girls here and cannot imagine going anywhere else. Thank you, Natalie, Tiffany, Jessica, Megan. You really made a difference for me.
I’ve gone to HAC twice now when I lost two of my beloved pets. They truly help ease the grieving process. They have so many lovely memorial options to choose from, with a variety of prices. The staff are also very sensitive and professional. I’ll definitely be going here in the future
