Beware, there is a secret angel hiding in this place. I don’t know her name yet. Younger, shorter brown skin girl in purple. Visualize your dream companion, feel the connection before you go. If you are authentic and don’t force it, YOUR dog, or furball WILL choose you. Little angels can help 🥰. Whole staff is on point, everyone is compassionate and flexible. Manager Jerry, a real approachable solid Hue-man. Stop hesitating, your best friend is waiting for you!! Also, don’t force a name 😛, connect to your pet, it will come organically. All photos our first 16 hours and pre-name Meet my baby, ZEN

Such a Special Place I absolutely love this place. The people here are so kind, passionate, and truly dedicated to helping animals find the loving homes they deserve. Every time I visit, I see beautiful pets just waiting for a second chance—and it’s clear how much care and effort goes into making sure they’re healthy, safe, and matched with the right families. I’ve come here multiple times to adopt and foster, and each experience has been amazing. You can feel the love and commitment the staff and volunteers have for every single animal. If you’re thinking about adopting or fostering, this is definitely the place to go. They truly make a difference!

‼️⚠️To the public: PLEASE use common sense their lives depend on it. Don’t bring bottle babies and expect 2-hour feeds at an overloaded shelter. There’s no one there to do that and they WILL get euthanized! please foster them or connect with a rescue. If a kitten is severely injured or not doing too well, go to an emergency vet. A packed shelter is NOT an ICU. Don’t be shocked if a critical animal is euthanized when there isn’t a bottle feeder or surgeon on deck. I truly feel like some of y’all want to get the credit for helping the animals when you’re NOT actually helping. Helping them would’ve been fostering them or taking them to the vet. Not to a shelter to get euthanized. Take bottle babies or injured/sick cats to overcrowded and understaffed shelter? ❌ Foster the babies and take injured/sick cats to emergency vet? ✅ that’s actually helping. Side note if you actually want to help sign up to Foster, sign up to volunteer, sign up to walk the dogs or TNR your community cats. Anyone can leave a bad review, but please actually do something about it and help the animals ‼️⚠️ For the shelter: I’ve visited Miami-Dade Animal Services twice. First time, the customer service was rough and nobody seemed sure who owned what task. Second time, I left in tears. There were two red plastic boxes sitting outside in direct sun at noon. (Someone had abandoned them) I only realized they had cats inside, panting and hyperventilating, when someone mentioned it. I immediately brought the boxes into the TNR room. Staff were irritated with me at first, then backed off when it was clear these cats were in danger. I get it: the team is over capacity, understaffed, and neck-deep in hard cases. But that can’t be an excuse for no basic triage. Simple fixes would help: • A shaded/covered drop-off spot, clearly marked. • A bell/camera at TNR intake and someone assigned to check it frequently including the security guard who was literally standing right next to the boxes. • Clear training so any staffer/volunteer knows to move animals out of heat immediately. Bottom line: I want this shelter to win. But the customer service and safety protocols need work. Do better, for the animals and the people trying to help them.

This facility is extremely over capacity. They are having free adoption this month. I had to surrender my beautiful sweet dog Molly, due to tenant restrictions. I called 311 a week after I dropped her off, and they informed that she had already been adopted. I'm so happy. I've seen posters there for doggies that have been there over 2 years. I pray she's has found a great forever loving home. All the volunteers there seem to genuinely love and care much for the animals. Thank you
