Final Gift Pet Memorial Center

I lost my sweet Tessie, who was 14 and a half years old. Final gift handled everything from picking her up from my vet to the moment her ashes were back with me with such care. They give you a few days to make the hard decision of how you want to proceed. For my own personal beliefs, I wanted her cremated by herself and returned to me along with a paw print cast. I was a river of tears opening the carefully packaged remains of my girl, arrive at my door the next day after notice of shipping. I am truly grateful how everything turned out. Thank you for fulfilling my wishes and making such a hard experience a bit easier to endure.

DO NOT HAVE CREMATION SERVICES FOR YOUR PET HERE! I would give a 0 but you can’t for reviews. My beloved cat Milo was sent here for their services after I had the sudden and saddened experience to put him to sleep at Shelton VCA. I contacted Final Gift 2x over the the phone before he was taken to the facility. I specifically asked to have a discussion with the managers/ and or higher-ups regarding the final decision for Milo’s cremation and which cremation to do. I wanted to talk about their fees and if they have financial plans etc. since the CSR’s mentioned the managers would know best. Just a conversation. Both calls I was told someone would get back to me…and that apparently Milo was “on hold.” I asked what that meant because I didn’t want him “on hold” that’s not any way to take care of a pet after their passing, no one ever called me back. As you can imagine that is now how a pet owner wants to feel, completely ignored during a time of grievance. After a day about, I was anxious, worried, and confused pretty much with what was going on with my Milo. He passed away on 11/19/25 and I heard back from no manager. On 11/21/25 morning, I then emailed Final Gift since I tried calling already and no one called back. Someone from their customer service emailed me back saying someone will get back to me…til this day no one called me or contacted me. This place needs to be shut down all their locations! You don’t treat people this way or their pet and shouldn’t be in this type of service if you don’t have a heart and have no care when an owner loses their precious family member. I still don’t know what happened to my Milo and it’s the most unbearable experience for an owner dealing with the loss of their fur baby. Please, please research and use any other cremation facility than Final Gift. I only had Milo sent there because VCA Shelton works with them and said they were great which is a lie. I wish I knew what would transpire after Milo being sent to Final Gift Oxford CT.😢😢

Final Gift has been a precious place for our family when it comes to our cat family members. I wanted to give a special thank you to Trenton, who came by this afternoon to pick up my precious orange tabby, Green. Trenton was kind, compassionate, and warm. It meant so much to me that he was able to bring such a loving energy during one of the most difficult moments of my life. Thank you, Final Gift, for taking care of Meho, Gogo, and Green. And thank you Trenton, for being such a caring person, especially while doing such difficult work.

It took me some time to sit down and actually write this review. We had to unfortunately say goodbye to our 3 year old golden retriever, Clifford due to cancer on February 24 2024 — I’m still personally experiencing a really tough time accepting his passing. I’ve never experienced a pet loss and was completely taken back by all the paperwork that follows. I am forever grateful that final gift offices reached out to me a day after to arrange all things. I was a wreck, imagine leaving the hospital to go home and sit down to arrange a sudden pass. They honestly helped aid some of the burden. However, after the initial call, my wife or I had to call constantly because we didn’t receive any updates afterwords. I felt more like a bother having to call everyday but nonetheless they were always helpful and willing to answer all of our questions. The day we picked him up, we called to ask if he was ready — which he was. Upon arrival I was hoping he would run out of the back room excited to come home but instead reality settled. A beautiful bag with all our special request in it, his fur clippings, paw prints, ashes etc. I broke down and the ladies were so helpful and nice, we went through all things to make sure everything we requested was in the bag. I recommend using their services! Thanks for taking good care of our Clifford.

My dog passed on Monday, we drove her still warm body to Final Gift in Oxford. On Tuesday, we picked her ashes up in gorgeous blue bag. We were treated with respect, as was the still warm body of my golden retriever, the gentleman that picked her up out of the backseat was nothing short of special. He cradled her body like any loving pet owner would do, irrespective of the fact that he does not know her. I was never rushed, never felt any need to “drop and go”. In a sad time of life- these people were kind and respectful and caring. Knowing that the actual facility was there at the property, assured me that my lovely dog would not need to be wrapped in plastic and transported to another place. She was handled with kindness and respect through the process. Did I mention that she was back in my hands in 24 hrs!? In a tough time- this was a lovely process. RIP Piper. We love you
