Pet Pilgrimage staff (especially Lisa in Denver) are compassionate, professional and deliver a beautiful deliverable. You can provide an urn of your choice or choose to use their urn. I’ve done both. Their urn is beautiful; it is a stained wood with the tree of life burned into the top. I purchase a tag for the front and it is beautiful. The perfect keepsake for you to remember your beloved pet. As a rescuer we have and had many pets at one time. With so many its still hard losing even one. Over the years there have been crematoriums our vet used. All were good. However, the last four cremations of our beloved pets were handled by Pet Pilgrimage through our vet Anyone can say they handle with care but, in the fall of 2025 we seen it first hand. Our pet Thor of 8yrs passed away at home unexpectedly in his sleep. We called before operation hours and someone helped us immediately. She met us at the office and the care she took was remarkable. She helped put our 80 lb boy on a stretcher with care. She covered him and his blanket. Then wheeled him into a room that was serene, decorated in all things to make a pet feel at home, while not being overbearing. We were seated near him and she uncovered his beautiful face and adjusted his blanket while we made his final plans. Her voice caring and soft spoken. Never pushy. She spoke about the arrangements as if she knew and loved him herself. Never disrespecting or having you think its just a business for her. She gave us tissues for our tears (I need them now while writing this). Soft music played and it was just peaceful. After all was done, she gave us time with him. We knew they were good because the first pet of ours they did, they set a standard no other had. You not only get your pets ashes but, they have beautiful urns/boxes. You receive a well constructed folder containing condolences, your pets nose print, and fur clupping. They have paw prints as well. You would think that was enough and way more than some others had done. But, our first holiday a text message came from Lisa with kind words stating how hard it can be without our pet. No other company has ever done that. We don't want to see them anytime soon; however, with 9 rescues currently and some with heath issues, should we need someone it will definitely be Pet Pilgrimage of Denver NC. Pet Pilgrimage came to the vet when my girl Maia had to be put down. They let me hold her till I was ready and even let me lay her in the little doggie stretcher. I covered her up, kissed her, and she was covered with blanket with an angel on it. They promised to take care of my baby girl and they did. I was also treated with such kindness and respect for the loss of my baby girl. Picking her up after cremation was bittersweet. Her wooden box was so beautiful. The clippings of her fur, made me smile, along with her paw print mold. I still had a piece of her with me. I was able to bring her back home. She now watches over us all. The staff at Pet Pilgrimage Crematory was so compassionate at a time when I needed it most. They did everything possible to ease the heart break I was experiencing after just losing my little dog.
