My wife and I adopted a 12-year cat. The entire experience with the entire process couldn’t have been any better. Customer service is superb! Our new cat, Susan (this was her name originally), is the queen of her domain. It was a perfect choice.

I've never left any reviews for anything but I feel the need to do so today to protect current adopters. If you want to get a dog, DO NOT go here. I've been to a different humane society and got better treatment. The staff was lovely and were very kind. I just wish they would show their animals the same respect as they deserve. When we were looking at our boy. Every day we went it took 2-3 hours just to even see him. During those days I found that our dogs kennel was NOT cleaned, I saw the same pieces of trash in his kennel. They don't give these dogs the time of day unless they are getting adopted and even then. Not to mention they gave us a sick dog without telling us. They said that he had a slight "upper respiratory infection" and only gave us 1 dose of meds for it. They also told us to incubate him for 2 weeks away from other dogs. Okay thats fine, we don't have any other dogs, I only have a cat but thats about it as far as animals go. They told us if we needed to see a vet after to go through them and it would be a 90 dollar deductible. Okay cool, tell me why when we tried to book a vet appt it was gonna be a month out?! What the actual hell. Thats not acceptable, he needed care NOW. We were able to get an appointment with Sploot same day and we got a good amount of medication for our dog. Turns out he has kennel cough and from research and a different vet that can lead to bronchopneumonia. Our pup is only a year and a half old. He was hacking, wouldn't hardly eat or drink, let alone potty. I was worried something bad has happened in the middle of the night. He seemed okay when we got him. After we took him to Sploot he had drastic changes in behavior for the better! He's getting better as the days go on thankfully. Also beware once you get a dog here, be prepared to wash your hands when you get your animals upon getting home. They gave us our pup and he had literal dog shit all over his cone on the inside. Its really no wonder how he got so sick. Management, be better negligence is not something to be proud of and be leaders for your staff There's even a review from an ex employee with a 1 star and im gonna trust it.

I absolutely love how amazing the Humane Society is with their adoption process. We were able to find a wonderful dog for our special needs daughter and they have been great together! Now just need to figure out training to become a service dog for her. Thank you Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region!

I had been looking at a dog online for about a week, and told myself that if she was still there when I got off work, I would immediately go pick her up. I got there at 11:00 when they opened, and was impressed by how nice and clean their facilities were. I was informed to immediately check in with the animal I was interested in so I could be in line, and then was invited to look at the dogs while I waited. Upon getting called very quickly, I was read a lot of information that seemed to differ greatly from the paragraph posted online. After I confirmed I wanted to meet her, I was then told by a separate employee that she was “a lot of dog” and I should continue to look and pick a second dog to look at. I walked the lanes a few more times and selected a second. My first choice was a very excited girl who I still loved despite the information that I felt was contradictory. We had a great visit, and it went better than expected. My second choice was not as good, and even the employees noticed how much I bonded with the first. I continued to move forward with the adoption, and I couldn’t be happier!! I do feel like the employees undersold my wonderful dog. She is extremely well behaved and knows so many tricks already. I know they intend to be transparent and give all the information, but they read things from before her last adoption, which I feel like was no longer relevant. This nearly made me second guess my decision and not get her. Thankfully the visit went well and I trusted my gut. I am still giving them 5 stars because the process was extremely smooth, easy, and I got the best dog from all of this. I couldn’t be happier, and after a difficult breakup, my girl is filling my heart. Thanks to the Humane Society for having a great facility and making getting a forever friend so easy. I will recommend you to anyone! Also, pictures of my beautiful girl, Willow.
