Although I could never imagine being able to do what Dr. Megan does, I could not think of anyone better suited than Dr. Megan to support our family when we came to the difficult and heart-wrenching decision to send Dante, our family dog, to his eternal home with God. She worked with us to find a time that fit our needs as a family and then once at our house, she took time to ensure she understood the needs of each family member throughout the process. She explained the euthanasia process in terms our children could understand while speaking in a soft, comforting manner – and then gave us the space and time both as a family and individually to be with our pet afterwards. Dr. Megan also supported us with aftercare services, including environmentally friendly water cremation and providing memorial keepsake pawprints for our children. We knew that our pet was in very caring and capable hands the entire time with Dr. Megan. Dr. Megan has an incredibly calm demeanor and gentle touch and provided a dignified and honor-filled experience for our family and pet. We will absolutely be calling Dr. Megan (Companion Crossroads / Green Heart Pet Water Cremation) the next time any of our other pets need to make their final journey home.
Very kind, soft spoken and compassionate vet, and she is the only person you work with. I had called her a few months earlier to see who we were going to use to euthanize our elderly cat, who had kidney disease, when the time came. I also liked that she has one price point (mostly?), so you’re not worrying about the hour. One less thing to think about. I called her the day my kitty stopped eating, and she was able to come the following day (though that’s not a guarantee!). She brought kitty treats and he ate them while she gave him his relaxation shot before the next step.
We have unfortunately had to use Companion Crossroads 2 times this year for the passing of our senior pets, but Dr. Megan has been fantastic every time. She made our dog (who doesn't like strangers) feel happy and comfortable in her final moments and treated our cat with gentle kindness. She was a calm and sympathetic presence during both appointments, making sure we were ready at every step and not rushing the process. I hope we don't have to use this service again for a long time, but it was completely worth the price to have our pets euthanized peacefully in the comfort of their home and surrounded by family.
