Hillside Pet Clinic

I’m going to whisper this review because I secretly don’t want Hillside Pet Clinic to get TOO popular… but they do deserve every single star and then some. Finding the right vet feels exactly like searching for the perfect pediatrician for your human kids—someone who loves them almost as much as you do, notices the tiniest details, and somehow speaks fluent “dog” better than we ever will. That’s Hillside. Every single visit, they treat our lovable golden four-legged son like the VIP he believes he is (and okay, we believe it too). From the kind front desk to the doctors, who patiently listen and explain things in a way that makes us feel heard and calm, they go above and beyond every time. They’ve eased our minds, celebrated the big wins with us, and honestly just made us feel like our dog has the best possible team in his corner. Thank you for always taking such gentle, thoughtful, incredible care of my favorite child (I would say don’t tell my other kids, but they already know!) 🐾❤️ P.S. We first moved to Anchorage in December of 2024. My dogs had diarrhea from the stress of apartment living as they were used to living at a quiet residence. On our visit, my poor babies lost their bowels all over the exam room. The smell was putrid. Dr. Sarah Stevens helped us and she had to step out to get a peppermint it was so bad. Everyone in that office assisted me in cleaning my dogs up for the ride home, they were kind and helpful. Dr. Steven’s never lost patience with us and took her time examining both dogs and visiting with us despite the situation. She was SO kind. Later on we have started to work with Dr. Gardner Montgomery. Both Dr. Stevens and Dr. Gardner have made many follow up calls just to check on my dogs and see how they’re doing when they experience illness or natural aging. I’ve lost track of how many times Dr. Gardner has taken time out of his busy day just to call me to answer any questions or concerns I have over meds for my older dog. Dr. Montgomery is genuine and passionate about animals. His heart is IN this. This office is SO wonderful. ❤️ Anchorage is a better place because of Hillside Vet Clinic and all the genuine souls who work there. I highly recommend this office.

The team took good care of my hedgehog when she was alive and took good care of her and me as she passed. They always really made sure they were double checking and doing things correctly and I really appreciated that. When we had to make the hard decision of putting her down when she became ill, they were so kind and helped me contact who I needed since I didn't have a phone that time and they never rushed me to do anything or to hurry up, etc. And they went the extra mile getting ink prints and quills to keep forever. Few weeks later I got a card from the team that made me feel really thankful for the team and for my sweet hedgehog. Thank you guys!

Our kitten was taken care of by a team of super heroes! Every single person we interacted with, showed the highest level of care (GENUINE CARE). We can’t express enough gratitude for such a loving, compassionate team. They are all deserving of the highest level of recognition. It is difficult to find businesses these days where you don’t feel like just another dollar, just another customer. Not here! THEY CARE! Our kitten was experiencing a plethora of issues when we first adopted her, Dr. Weatherby and her team have all helped our family/kitten more than we can express. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

They have taken extraordinary care of our senior dog, Sole…above and beyond does not begin to describe the staff. Over the last two years, they have helped manage Sole’s natural aging process with such kindness and compassion. In the midst of uncertainty in Sole’s final years, months, and weeks, Dr. Engel and the support staff sustained a sense of safety and trust that we will never forget. Thanks to their care, Sole’s quality of life at her advanced age was great. Hillside Vet had a way of making us feel like we were the only ones in the clinic at every visit. Thank you all for everything!
